Dua for a child in Islam – a dua from the heart
To tell you the truth, I still remember the day when someone asked me for the first time, “What is the sweetest dua for a child?”
At that time I had the answer, but not the feeling. Then life took a small test.
One day a new guest came to my sister’s house – small, pinkish, hands so tiny that it seemed as if cotton had been stuffed in the fingers. I went near, and suddenly a strange silent storm arose in my heart. There was happiness, and fear too. Happiness because blessings had come to the house, fear because this little life had come trusting us elders completely.
I put my hand on his head, and only one word came out of my heart:

Dua for baby – straight from the Quran
The most famous and beloved prayer for a child in Islam is in the Quran’s Surah Al-Furqan (25:74):
رُبَّنَا هُبْ لُنَا مِنْ عَзْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةُ عُعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينُ إِمَامًا
“O our Lord, give us the comfort of our eyes through our wives and children, and make us the leaders of the pious.”
This dua does not only mean that the child should be cute or do well in studies. “The comfort of the eyes” means such comfort that reaches the deepest part of the heart. The comfort that only pious children give.

بِارُكَ اللَّهُ لُكَ فِي الْمُوْهُوبِ لُكُ, وسُکرْتُ الوّاهِب, وبلژ عشددّهُ ورسِقت بِرَّهُ
“Allah has given you this child May I bless you, and you be thankful to the giver, may he grow up, and may you be blessed with his goodness.”

The condition of the heart while praying
